Introduction
President Wendy summoned Rotarians for service and fellowship. Colin Hurren inspired us with his story of Sage, the 9 year-old boy who had been In foster care with 12 different families and then eventually in a facility in Pasadena. Despite Sage’s hardships, he did not think of himself as a victim and watched out for those in tough circumstances.
Guests
We had three guests: Pradeep Kapedia, Tracy and Bruce.

Sue G tortured her victims by asking them questions about the history, culture and languages of Afghanistan and Kenya.
Program
The program consisted of two speakers: Pradeep Kapedia and Marilyn Mosley.
PK gave us the history of the Kapedia Education Foundation, which has provided support for over 1000 students in Africa and Asia to attend college. PK was inspired to start KEF by meeting a young man in Vietnam who wanted to go to college. PK showed pictures of young women and men who now have a brighter future because of the work of the KEF and Rotary.
Marilyn Mosley described her work with girls in Afghanistan. Marilyn proudly stated that 314 girls were in school cultivating their minds and not becoming child brides. For a period, the classes were held face to face, but with the return of the Taliban, the students had to learn through Zoom.
