Scholarship Day!
In the beginning…
Past President Wendy Barker opened today’s meeting by announcing that this was Scholarship Day, the best Rotary meeting of the year. This is the day when the Rotary Club recognizes the students who have won scholarships. The room was filled with the scholars and their proud parents.
Announcements
Carl Gross invited Rotarians to join him in the Nordhoff Cemetary clean up tomorrow at 9am.
No meeting next week
Bret Bradigan invited Rotarians to the Living Treasures finals at the Museum May 28 at 5pm.
President Sue invites Rotarians to help the Land Conservancy on National Trails day June 6.
Program: Scholarship Awards
Gary Liptak, Chair of the Rotary Scholarship Committee, presided over the ceremony where the recipients receive their scholarships. The room will filled with proud parents who watched their children with pride. Gary gave a short but powerful talk to the students, with the memorable line: “…if you won’t learn, nothing will help you; if you are determined to learn, nothing will stop you…”
