Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world? Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship.
Our 1,4 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

The Program: Joe Preciado
President Sue introduced Seargent Preciado of the Ventura County Sheriffs.

Joe Preciado is a sergeant with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office where he currently oversees all in-service training for his department. Joe has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 1993. His experience includes years in investigations, patrol, and instructor positions. Joe was selected to be an instructor for our Science-Based Interviewing course for two reasons, 1) his extensive investigative experience where he has conducted countless high-profile interviews and 2) his vast teaching experience.

His topic today was emergency preparedness.  This is about assembling an emergency kit with essential items for surviving earthquakes, fires, floods, and other disasters. He recalled multiple instances in our Valley where planning and assembling a kit would  would be critical for survival. Thanks, Joe for the timely information which may save lives and suffering.
