May is Youth Service Month
Are you an established professional who wants to make positive changes in your community and the world? Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship.
Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

In the Beginning…

Patricia Anderson, our Greeter and Funbassador led a spirited crowd in warm up for the main event.

President Michael Scar called the meeting to order

Pledge of Allegiance: Ren Adam

Invocation: David Scarlett:

As we gather here today, we reflect on the heartache of the last 15 months, of friends and family that are no longer with us, of people that have lost jobs and homes, of people struggling with loneliness, depression and other mental health issues.
As we look to the future, it is difficult to see anything but ongoing conflict and political divisions. But…there is always HOPE. My hope is that as individuals and communities around the country and around the world that we choose the right path.
I hope we choose Light over darkness.
I hope we choose Truth over lies.
I hope we choose Peace over war.
I hope we choose Love over hate.
Hope is a state of mind. It is up to us to make it a reality.

Thank you, Ren for the Pledge, David for the invocation, Tara for facilitating our Zoom meeting, Patricia for being our greeter today and Haady Lashkari serving as our Reminder Editor. And I also want to thank Terry Beckett for sending out the Zoom link every week.
