Ojai Rotarians and guests settled into their new “lieu de reunion”, the bell was rung and Presidents Kelley and Bret welcomed the throng.  Bret implored us to have “flexibility and grace as we are still working out the kinks.”

Don Reed ably led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by an insightful inspirational moment by Christine Golden. Guests were ushered to the lunch line provided by Jim and Robs. Next week we will regularly enjoy Chef Ray’s weekly repasts.

Kelley and Bret need your help. Signups for volunteers. Pick something you like and get started!

Our Clubs will sponsor a foreign exchange student.  We need a host/hosts to house this student.  The Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) is a cultural and academic immersion program for high school students aged 15–19. Students live with multiple host families and attend local schools in over 100 countries. It is renowned for being one of the most affordable study abroad programs globally. Contact Kelley or Bret.

Bob Eisler gave an update on the Adult Education Program and the plans of 5 new graduates from the program.  Each of them was given a personal computer from our Club. 

These adult schools provide feasible and accessible access for adults of any age to pursue educational, career, or personal goals. There is a total of 370 California Adult Schools with one being the Ojai Adult School located in Ojai, in Ventura County.


Alexandra Mejia-Holdsworth is the principal for the Ojai Adult School who supervises and coordinates all its programs and staff.

July 24th-Beth Lane maker of an incredible documentary on survival in Nazi Germany.

July 31st-5th Friday.  Enjoy a few brews at the Ojai Valley Brewery on Bryant Street from 5-7 PM.

August 7th-photographer and journalist, Chuck Graham on the “American Galopagos”, a tour of a remarkable ecosystem “right in our own back yard”.

Program-Bret and Kelley take on Taiwan.

Kelley and Bret gave a brief recap of the Rotary International Convention in Taiwan. They were each one of 37,000 attendees.  They now return with focus on the Dignity Index, Polio Plus updates, Resilience Center and Safe Sites for young people.
